The tunnel to
Wymondham Abbey.
Local stories have long spoken of a hidden underground passage linking The Green Dragon with Wymondham Abbey. Whether it carried monks, merchants or simply grew in the telling, it remains one of the pub’s best-loved legends.
Fact, folklore… or both?
The supposed entrance is no longer accessible, so we present the tunnel exactly as Wymondham has passed it down: a local legend rather than proven history.
